Alex Skinner

Alex is the Refresh owner and director. He has been a physiotherapist for over 10 years. In this time he has worked in private practice and elite sports including state football, state hockey, triathlon and working at the Commonwealth Games.

He specialises in shoulder injuries, professional bike-fitting, running analysis and exercise rehabilitation.

Alex moved to Margaret River with his wife and daughter to be closer to family and start a new chapter where they can be better connected to their community.

Issy Downie

Issy completed her undergraduate degree for Physiotherapy in 2014 and recently just finished her Masters degree of Clinical Physiotherapy Continence and Pelvic Health at Curtin University in 2022. At the beginning of 2022 Issy was lucky enough to be upskilled in Adelaide at a specialty Pelvic Health Clinic for a 6 month secondment where she had regular training as well as upskilling in pessary fittings for pelvic organ management as well as advanced chronic/ complex pelvic floor disorders. Issy can help with conditions involving bowel or bladder disorders, sexual pain/ dysfunction, pelvic pain disorders such as endometriosis and IBS, exercising through the woman's life cycle including ant/postnatal and menopausal/ postmenopausal issues, functional strength training to improve power and endurance for recreational activities. Issy will use exercise as well as hands on management with all clients and is passionate and a client leaving with a strong treatment plan and understanding of their body. You can see her on Tuesdays and Fridays at the clinic as well as most mornings at the beach!

Arlen Osborne

Arlen, originally from coastal NSW, has worked within the movement space for over 10 years.

Arlen’s prime focus is to ensure every one of his patients is exposed to a positive experience with movement. He applies a simple no fuss strategy to empower his patients so they can move better and fulfil their goals.

Growing up in a community rich in surf culture, he has developed a passion for helping surfers return to sport after injury, and enhance their performance through surf specific training.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find him searching for waves, rock fishing  or chasing around his lively red kelpie Koa.

Jen Stuart

Meet Jen, a compassionate practitioner at Refresh Physio, renowned for her dedication to holistic healing.

With extensive experience in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Jen brings a unique perspective to her practice. Through years of expertise in yoga therapy, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and breathwork, she guides individuals towards emotional release and physical well-being.

Jen's commitment to creating a safe and nurturing space stems from her genuine empathy and deep respect for each client's journey. Beyond her professional role, Jen is deeply connected to the Margaret River community, finding profound belonging with her family.
